At Whitehill Secondary, we are proud to participate in the SCQF School Ambassador Programme, a national initiative designed to help young people understand the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and the many pathways available in education and employment.
Our SCQF Ambassadors are a team of dedicated students who actively promote the framework within our school and wider community, ensuring that everyone has the information they need to make informed choices about their future.
The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) is Scotland’s national qualifications framework, helping learners, educators, and employers understand the relationships between different qualifications. It includes school qualifications such as National 3 to Advanced Higher, as well as college and university qualifications, vocational awards, and apprenticeships.
The SCQF ensures that all learning is valued equally, whether it vocational, or work-based, supporting students in choosing the right pathway for their goals.

Our SCQF Ambassadors play a key role in spreading awareness of the SCQF and the many different learning pathways available. They work closely with staff and the SCQF Partnership to:
✅ Promote the SCQF in school – They deliver presentations, create displays, and organize events to inform students, parents, and staff about the SCQF framework.
✅ Support fellow students – They provide guidance on subject choices, different qualification levels, and potential career pathways.
✅ Host SCQF events and workshops – These sessions help students and parents understand alternative routes to success beyond traditional higher education.
✅ Engage with the community – They connect with local employers, colleges, and training providers to showcase how SCQF qualifications link to real-world opportunities.
✅ Develop leadership skills – As role models in the school, they gain valuable experience in communication, teamwork, and public speaking.
Being an SCQF Ambassador is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop key skills while making a meaningful impact. Benefits include:
🎓 Enhanced knowledge of qualifications and pathways, helping you make informed choices about your future.
📢 Leadership and communication skills through public speaking, event planning, and student support.
🤝 Networking opportunities with professionals, employers, and further education providers.
🏅 Recognition for your work, which looks great on applications for college, university, or apprenticeships.
Whitehill Secondary has been recognised as an SCQF Ambassador School due to the dedication and commitment of our students in promoting the SCQF. We are proud of the work our Ambassadors have done in raising awareness and supporting students to explore a range of learning opportunities.
